Sound artist, musician & DJ active in the Athens underground scene for more than 20 years now. In the mid 80s he played bass & synthesizers for the dark electro post-punk band Rehearsed Dreams, who released a full-legth album on the seminal Creep label in 1985 under the tilte "Repulsion". After a few years living in Sweden, in 1991, along with fellow musician Makis Faros he set up Elfish record label. The two of them also formed Raw, an electronic duo that managed to record three albums (although the third remains unreleased)_

ION is the solo project of Giannis Papaioannou from 1996 onwards. ION’s music has always been characterized from its underground repetitive minimalism. Influenced by the early techno scene, and especially from the dub sound of labels such as Basic Channel, ION was probably the first Greek electronic artist to appear at live performances with his portable computer alone. After various vinyl releases during the late 90s, 2005 signaled his return to the local electronic scene with the release of "No Camera"album and a countless series of live or DJ sets along with his darling laptop_
